Elouise82, I want to expand my comment that I just made on Chapter 5 of "The Summer Between." I just couldn't write more in the review, because those two words were more than enough. I like Tryg, and I look forward to seeing more of him.
I liked Gwen and Grandmother's frank discussion regarding Jack and Lynde. It's so easy for people on the outside to see things more clearly.
I feel sorry for Van, because Fanny is most likely just using him.

I must confess to a sneaking fondness for Tryg, too. I don't want to say too much about him, because I don't want to give away anything of the future, but I will say that he's become one of my favorite-ever male characters, even more than Matty.
Interestingly enough, Fanny started out as one of the good characters, but as the story progressed she just turned more shallow, and now I really can't stand her. I even prefer Chloe - she may be a rat, but at least she has a backbone.
