The Old Anne of Green Gables Movie

I got home today and remembered that the "Classic" Anne of Green Gables was on TCM today. I'm not liking it too much right now. They've sort of butchered it. Much worse than Pride and Prejudice was butchered in the forties.

    I'm Tivoing it!

I like the old Anne movie for what it is -- a piece of LMM lore. Nothing else.

I just watched part of it and its crazy... part of the beginning started out okay but now it is getting kinda weird(I had to tape it) on another topic have you ever seen the Emily of New Moon Series?

I watched the '34 version years ago in HS when I was babysitting two girls (who I got interested in the two Sullivan Anne movies). An aunt bought them the '34 version and they were excited to show me it. It deviates from the book a lot, but as a classic movie it's good.

Unfortunately, I forgot to tape it while I was at work today. . .I wanted to see it just for the fun of it. Perhaps another time!

I've always wanted to see the Emily series. One of my favorites is the Road to Avonlea series, based on the Story Girl books and the Chronicles of Avonlea. I would have liked it a lot more if character relationships had followed the ones in the book more.
