Moonlight Contemplations and Confessions

Here's the latest chapter of "Comfort and Joy." I really intended this to be the last chapter concerning Christmas 1916. However, as all of you know so well, these things often have minds of their own, and it told me this was where we were to finish this chapter. I hope all of you enjoy this chapter. Take from it what you will, I've got to figure out where I should go next, though I'm already getting a fairly good idea.

I actually hadn't intended on Will being a rival for Katie. It just sort of came into being, and I had to go along with it. The story sort of wrote itself there.

And it WAS!!!! In your first Cecilia story, it seemed as if Cecilia and Blythe were meant to be. However, Blythe wasn't nearly as compelling as Marshall in CoRAF. It's just a wonderful picture of how we change as we grow older and who fit with us at one point may not later on. I seriously wish some people I know would figure that out in real life. LOL.

Of course, we know how things will end up in "Comfort and Joy." It's very evident. I always intended there to be competition, on both sides, just not William. Only time will tell if that shall remain an unrequited love or not.

Sadly, I want people to like Katie so much, that they can no longer hate her for not being Una. Of course such a likable person is often admired by many people. She will find that there are people who don't like her as well. That will have to be mostly women becaue we're just that way sometimes.

Would Anne, Nan, Di, and Rilla taken a while to warm to Katie because she's not Una? I don't know. In my universe, Nan and Di aren't aware of Una's feelings for Walter, so I don't think that it would be so hard for them. Rilla, I think, would have the most difficult time with it because she loves Walter so much, but she also cares about Una and knows that she loves Walter. Hmmm.... No! I will not change the hisory that I've written, LOL!

Walter was always the child with the second sight and such. There will be subtle ways where his family will be close, in spirit if not distance, all through the fic. Especially at important times, but I don't want to give too much away.

As for the fic that follows after OoI, I've been thinking about finishing my unfinished Gilly chapter lately.
