I was an English Major. I wish that I had minored in history as well.
I wish that I had minored in history because I beleive that literature and history are closely related. I think that to really understand a piece of literature you need to know what was going on in the world at the time that it was written. Also, I find both subjects very interesting.
I was a history major with a minor in film studies. LMM fanfic writers seem to be some of the best around for writing pretty close to historically accurate fanfics. There are so many fandoms out there that try it, and the people have no idea what they are writing about. On top of that they don't care that it is not correct.
Another favorite television series: Simon Shama's A History of Britain by the BBC and History Channl. I have all 5 DVDs.

10. I have a bachelors degree in Environmental Design (Architecture) with emphasis in urban and regional planning. I started reading at the age of 4 and haven't stopped since, my main love is classic literature. I like to write when I get any spare time, it helps to relieve the tensions of everyday life.
Arundhati, I think your name is beautiful! You have me interested in finding out more about the Indian writers you mentioned above as well as a few months ago. I understand Arundhati Roy has recieved awards for her writing.
I am glad to get to know all of you and I love reading your stories, they have kept me entertained on countless occasions. So keep up the good work. I just got back from a week long vacation in Florida so I have lots of catching up to do. :)
Thanks for the info, all!
